The American Dream has been downgraded, too.
Writer James Truslow Adams coined the
phrase American Dream and defined it in grand terms in 1931, when he
called it “that dream of a land in which life should be better and
richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to
ability or achievement.”
